Rio Promises Sexy Olympics Opening Ceremony

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games begin tonight, August 5, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and as usual, the games' opening ceremony promises to be one of the most-watched spectacles of the entire event. This time around, the typically high-concept ceremony is going to be relatively modest compared to the opening ceremonies of past games, but it also will feature a particularly Brazilian flavor.

Rio's much-publicized difficulty in getting ready for the games has affected the planning for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the games themselves. The Rio Olympic Committee's budget for the ceremonies is a small fraction of the budgets allotted to past games, including the past two games in Beijing and London, and the Rio opening ceremony will be on a smaller scale than the overblown ceremonies in those countries.

What the ceremony lacks in scale, however, will be made up for with added heat. A source told the Daily Mail that the opening ceremony will be the sexiest ever, with "lots of nearly naked women doing the samba."

"The costumes have been designed to show off as much flesh as possible which means as little material as they can get away with," the source said.

The opening ceremony will be broadcast in the United States on NBC beginning at 6:30pm Eastern.
