Who Will Be Ringing In 2012 Alongside The Immortal Dick Clark?

Who Will Be Ringing In 2012 Alongside The Immortal Dick Clark? Hey, everybody! Ready for Dick Clark's 40th "New Year's Rockin' Eve" live from Times Square in New York? You aren't if you aren't ready to explain to Grandma Gertrude what "LMFAO" means!

Alongside Grammy nominees Nicki Minaj and Florence + The Machine, LMFAO (which, of course, is shorthand for "Laughing My F***ing Ass Off") will be among the several acts headlining this year's big party to stick it to the Mayans that think the world is boned at the stroke of Midnight on Jan. 1, 2012.

The show starts at 8 PM ET/PT on ABC, co-hosted once more by Clark and "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, along with Jenny McCarthy and Fergie. Along the way to the big Times Square ball-drop, other musical performances by the likes of Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am, the Band Perry, Blink 182, OneRepublic, Taio Cruz, Gym Class Heroes, and Christina Perri. An Oct. 18 story by MTV News also confirmed appearances by Lada Gaga and Justin Bieber. Fergie has been hosting the party's musical segments since the 2006-2007 broadcast. Seacrest has been co-hosting alongside Clark since the 2005-2006 show.

The musical performances have clearly come a long way, since the first show that featured songs by Three Dog Night, Helen Reddy, Al Green and Blood, Sweat & Tears pre-taped in the ballroom on board the Queen Mary. Alas, the pre-taped part hasn't changed for most performances.

Oh, and regarding that LMFAO performance? America, brace yourselves. This is what you now have to look forward to . . .

You can't un-see it. Happy New Year. Have fun with that.
