'Riddick' Teaser Trailer Hits... You're Not Afraid of the Dark, are You?

It’s been a long time since Riddick was left for dead, but he’s back... and he’s angry.

“Whatever happens, no matter what they tell you, don’t let them take them chains off me,” Riddick tells an unseen character as he is lashed to rock, apparently for the unfortunate other character's own good.

The teaser trailer, which is less than 30 seconds long, appeared on Vin Diesel’s Facebook page on Friday.

“You’re not afraid of the dark, are you?” Riddick taunts in a voice over, as he faces down some seriously creepy, dragon-like creatures with those night-shining eyes.

It’s been nine years since “The Chronicals of Riddick” left our anti-hero on a hot, apparently lifeless planet. “Riddick,” the third film in the series, picks up with Riddick pitting himself against an alien race of predators. In an effort to escape, he activates an emergency beacon, which alerts two nearby ships.

The first ship carries a new breed of mercenary, while the second is “captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal.”

“With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy,” teases the film’s summary.

Though the bounty hunters have Riddick in their sights, we’re also told that Riddick has become even more powerful and dangerous than before.

So don’t take off them chains if you’re not on his good side.

“Riddick” also stars “Star Trek” actor Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Molla, Nolan Gerard Funk, Keri Hilson, and Dave Batista.

It opens September 6th. Are you excited?
