Ricky Gervais Heads Up Guest List For New Season Of 'The Marriage Ref'

Ricky Gervais Heads Up Guest List For New Season Of 'The Marriage Ref' Couples, get your claws out. “The Marriage Ref” is back June 26.

Comedian Tom Papa, hand-chosen by returning Executive Producer Jerry Seinfeld, is back hosting the show that sends couples to marriage counseling before a live studio audience and an audience of millions of viewers, not to mention a panel of celebrities and comedians.

Real-life couples will take the stage before the panel and live audience to air their funny, quirky but very real dirty laundry. At the night’s end, the live audience will vote on which of the winners of each couple will be “the rightest of the right,” winning a cool $25,000 and a hometown billboard celebrating individual victory over the one he or she is supposed to love, honor and obey.

The panel could be a tough crowd this time around, too. There will be some big personalities raking each twosome over the coals. Ricky Gervais heads up this year’s confirmed list of judges, to be joined by Julianne Moore, Regis Philbin, Rachel Ray, Tracy Morgan, Kathy Griffin, Ellen Pompeo, Joel McHale, Bill Maher, Patti LaBelle, Seth Meyers, Judah Friedlander, Will.i.am, Ali Wentworth and others.

So let me see if I’ve got this straight, couples: when the subject of “counseling” came up, some of you instead decided you’d rather chance Ricky Gervais’ notorious zingers coming at your head in front of a live audience and millions of TV fans if you’re wrong, instead of sitting in an air-conditioned office and talking about how your dirty socks on the floor make your spouse feel neglected?

In the infamous words of one of this season’s panelists . . . final answer?
