Reality Gone Wrong: 'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Attempts Suicide

Reality Gone Wrong: 'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Attempts Suicide Sometimes reality TV is just too damned real. MTV's "Teen Mom" and "16 and Pregnant" star Amber Portwood reportedly attempted to kill herself this morning.

From an Anderson, Indiana police report: "Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence. ... According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life."

A source told Radar Online: "When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck. They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn't respond. She was just moaning. They gave her an oxygen mask, put her on a gurney and rushed her to the hospital."

Portwood had apparently also swallowed a handful of pills.

According to the Radar report, Portwood is currently in stable condition at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, Indiana.

The subject of MTV's reality show on teen pregnancy, Portwood had been experienceing a slate of horrible news as of late. She pleaded guilty to two counts of felony assault on the father of her baby, 21-year-old Gary Shirley, and received two years of probation on Thursday of this week. An investigation into the attacks were launched after the series aired footage of Portwood punching Shirley repeatedly on "Teen Mom."

This comes after Portwood lost custody of her child back in May, after Child Protective Services gave Shirley full custody rights due to concerns over Portwood's living conditions.

Best wishes to Portwood and let's hope she's able to get some actual non-reality-TV-based help, far away from the cameras and MTV.
