Real-Life 'Grand Theft Auto V' Video Goes Viral
by Andy Neuenschwander
"Grand Theft Auto V" is a juggernaut in the video game industry, selling millions of copies and continuing one of the best-selling franchises of all time. In the game, players drive around through a fictional but incredibly accurate version of Los Angeles called Los Santos, committing crimes and taking selfies along the way.
But what would it look like in real life?
This video has the answer. "Real GTA," a video by CorridorDigital on YouTube, does a real-life re-enactment of the sort of things you do in "GTA V," including walking down the Venice Boardwalk, stealing a guy's bike, punching a dude and collecting cash up at the Griffith Observatory, getting in firefights with gangs, and of course taking a selfie with the Hollywood sign.
The details of the video are alamingly accurate to the game, down to the way the character moves and the way the camera follows him.
Already the video has racked up more than 5 million views, despite having just gone up on YouTube yesterday.
