'Real Housewives' Star Teresa Giudice Sentenced to 15 Months Prison Time

'Real Housewives' Star Teresa Giudice Sentenced to 15 Months Prison Time Teresa Giudice is about to be a Real Housewife of the State Penitentiary.

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star has been sentenced in her fraud case, stemming from her husband Joe Giudice's tax fraud. The couple failed to report all of their income and assets on their 2009 tax filing.

"I fully take responsibility for my actions," Teresa told the court via a letter she prepared. " I deeply love my family... My four daughters are my life."

Teresa will face 15 months in prison, less than originally thought for her crime. The sentence was previously expected to be between 21 and 27 months.

Joe Giudice, meanwhile, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison and will be required to pay over $400,000 in restitution. Joe might also face deportation, as he is an Italian citizen.

"I stand here humiliated before the court and my family and society," he said in court. "I disgraced many people, including my wife and four daughters. I take full responsibility for my actions. I promise to be a better person."

On the plus side for the couple, the judge has staggered the couple's sentences so that one parent may be present with their children while the other serves their time. Teresa will serve her sentence first while Joe stays with the children, after which point she will be released and Joe will serve his term.
