Rachel Bloom Has to Pay for Red-Carpet Dresses Because She's Not Size 0
by EG
Rachel Bloom may be a Golden Globe winner for her role in CW's musical comedy Crazy-Ex Girlfriend (she's also the show's creator), but that doesn't mean she finds it any easier to get designers to dress her for formal occasions.
In an interview with Wealthsimple, in which she reveals she makes $50,000 to $60,000 per episode, she says she spends anywhere from $500 to $3,000 on non-sample-size designer dresses for events.
"A lot of fashion houses are reluctant to lend clothes that aren't in the sample sizes of 0 and 2, so it's getting harder and harder for me to find clothes without buying them," said Bloom, who's styled by Annabelle Harron. "That's the whole problem with the fashion industry: My body size is literally normal and healthy, but when you put me next to a model, I look obese."
