Are We Being Punk'd? Ashton Kutcher Replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'

Are We Being Punk'd? Ashton Kutcher Replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men' The biggest question for CBS over the past few months has been "who will replace Charlie Sheen?"...well, after "what the hell happened to Charlie Sheen?"

CBS may have its answer. According to THR, sources say that Ashton Kutcher is currently closing a deal to replace Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men." If it goes through, this will mark a return to TV for Kutcher, who started his career on "That 70's Show" and MTV's "Punk'd."

This is a bit of a departure from the direction that it seemed CBS and Chuck Lorre were going with the casting process. In fact, news that Kutcher will sign follows on the heels of news that Hugh Grant, who was offered the role first, passed on it. Rumor has it that Jeremy Piven was also being considered.

So, Kutcher is probably the youngest name of the group that was under consideration. Does that mean that the show will take a different direction in this "Two and a Half Men" reboot? Will Kutcher play another sleazy ladies' man?

With Kutcher's recent work in movies, including "Killers" and "No Strings Attached," as well as his high profile as Demi Moore's beau and as a Twitter powerhouse, Kutcher probably came at a high price: sure enough, THR reports that he is getting a "huge payday" for taking the role.
