'Psych' Builds To New Season With Social Media Challenge

'Psych' Builds To New Season With Social Media Challenge Admit it, folks. Murder, theft and all, Santa Barbara's not a bad place to spend this coming fall.

Well, there's bad news: chances are, no idyllic beach-front home for you or me. But if you dig "Psych," it's probably a nice place to visit. That's exactly where USA Network would love to send you, if you don't mind doing Shawn and Gus a favor before the hit comedy kicks off its sixth season Oct. 12.

Stars James Rodday and Dule Hill have filmed a set of special videos based at HashTagKiller.com unfolding the duo's hunt for the #HashTagKiller (HTK) over the seven weeks leading up to and past the season premiere, with the game officially having opened Wednesday at 3 PM ET/PT. It will be up to devoted "Psych-Os" to examine crime scene photos and, in the style of Shawn Spencer's faux-psychic "gifts," deduce just what exactly feels out-of-place.

Players can exchange messages back and forth with Shawn and Gus throughout the social media game daily, while solving points and playing games that will determine a leader board throughout the seven-week challenge. Some players might even become the HTK's next "victim," reports TVLine exclusively on the challenge.
