Protesters Gather To Hustle Kim Kardashian Out of Bahrain
by Shannon KeirnanSome people hate Kim Kardashian even more than some Americans.
Protesters threw a wrench into the “Keeping Up with The Kardashians” star's plans when she visited Bahrain and Kuwait to promote openings of the store Millions of Milkshakes, despite government action to keep her out.
Outside of a shopping mall in Riffa, Bahrain, a crowd of about 50 protestors gathered. Some reports even claim it was nearer to 100 angry people.
Protesters chanted and waved signs that said “God is Great” and “Kim Not Welcome” behind the actress while she posed for promotional photos.
According to Gulf Daily News, she had already been labeled in a parliamentary session as “an actress with an extremely bad reputation.”
“None of our customs and traditions allow us to receive stars of porn movies!” Some protest signs read.
A local paper reported that authorities sent out riot squads to tear gas the crowd and break up the scene, but the validity of that is now being called into question.
Sheeraz Hasan, the owner of Millions of Milkshakes, also refuted the situation.
“WHAT PROTESTS?? Kim Kardashian loved by the people of Bahrain & wants to return!” Hasan tweeted.
Despite the uproar, Kardashian tweeted “I'm in love with The Kingdom of Bahrain!”
Too bad the feeling didn’t appear to be mutual.
"Thanks @sheerazhasan and Paresh A Shah for an amazing trip to The Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait. We did it!!!" she added.
To be fair, thousands of fansdid show up to support the personality, and to partake of her milkshakes.
