'Pretty Little Liars' Star Lucy Hale Signs Record Deal

'Pretty Little Liars' Star Lucy Hale Signs Record Deal A classic "triple threat" in the making? Perhaps, perhaps not. But being double the trouble is a step that way.

ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars" has seemingly already mounted "Gossip Girl" throne of being the best at making Machiavellian teen cattiness look damn good. Keeping up the parallel, Lucy Hale may be the new Taylor Momsen.

In the vein of the CW star making as much noise (the best kind) with The Pretty Reckless as on "Gossip Girl," Us Weekly and blogger Just Jared report that Hale, 22, now has a Hollywood Records deal with a premiere album and single due in 2013. For Hale, it's not the biggest of stretches. Nine years ago, she was a 13-year-old contestant on the "American Idol" off-shoot "American Juniors" - a show her talent has long since outlasted.

Hollywood Records, of course, is the label whose recording contracts "American Idol" hopefuls vie for annually.

"I'm overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family. I've admired the careers they've made and can't wait to see how my musical path is paved out," Hale said in a statement, also making sure to thank "everyone involved for giving me the chance to show a whole different side of myself, which is a huge passion for music."

During an interview appearing in the February 2011 Teen Vogue, Hale suggested she wouldn't rule out branching into a recording studio. "I sing in the car, at home - it's a huge part of my life, especially since I'm from Tennessee. When I'm ready for it, I'm going to dive into it 100-percent."
