Pretty Little Liars Season 1 Episode 1 - Pilot Recap

In the season premiere of Pretty Little Liars, we meet four girls from a small town community. All are smart, beautiful and have very distinct personalities. But the one thing they share is a secret. A very dark secret. One involving the disappearance of a girl one year before who they all called their friend.
Aria is distraught over tension between her mom and dad and seeks comfort in the sexy eyes of a new teacher at school. Hanna is the "it" girl who has highschool wrapped around her little finger but she's turning into a bit of a rebel and it's not obvious why.
Emily misses her dad who is away in Iraq and finds herself attracted to a new female neighbor. Spencer comes from a well to do family and is a perfectionist but is always overlooked by her parents who fawn on her older sister. She finds it hard to stay away from her sister's fiance when the couple comes around.
The former best friends all see each other but go their separate ways at school as if they didn't know one another. Then a mysterious text message from "A" brings them all back together. How could they get a text message from "A," their best friend Alison, if she was dead?
This makes the girls wonder if she's really gone or not and if she is alive, what she wants from them. The drama begins.
It's a really interesting premise. I love the suspense and questions it brings up. You're left wanting more and finding yourself filled with excitement for the next episode where you can learn about what happened to Alison and why someone named "A" is suddenly texting the girls.
