Police Arrest Man Wearing Joker Makeup Outside Florida Movie Theater
by Andy NeuenschwanderThis guy needs to read the news a little more often.
Police arrested Florida resident Christopher Sides after he drew attention to himself outside a movie theater in Melbourne, Florida. Sides was reportedly pacing around outside of the theater, and was dressed a bit strangely: he was wearing a leather jacket, boots, and makeup reminiscent of The Joker, with his hair dyed bright red.
Naturally this brought to mind images of John Holmes, the shooter who opened fire on a movie theater full of people at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado, killing 12 people. Holmes had also been made up like the Joker, so when moviegoers saw Sides outside the theater, they called the authorities.
Sides allegedly cooperated with police and submitted to a search, and police found that he wasn't armed. When he was informed about the reason for suspicion, Sides said that he hadn't heard about the shooting in Aurora before.
Of course, the cops couldn't arrest Sides for dressing like a weirdo for no reason or generally being clueless about major current events. But when they checked his background, it turned out that Sides had failed to appear for a previous misdemeanor concerning drug paraphernalia.
Moral of the story: stay informed, people. Especially if you got caught with a bong a while back.
