A 5th 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Movie? Not Yet, Says Johnny Depp

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the fourth movie in the franchise, hasn't hit theaters yet. But as is often the case with the biggest movie franchises, the studio isn't stopping to rest: Disney already wants to make a fifth 'Pirates" movie, and screenwriter Terry Rossio has already turned in a script for it, according to THR.

Jerry Bruckheimer is already signed on to produce again (no surprise there), and rumor has it that Rob Marshall, the new director for the series who took over for Gore Verbinski, is in talks to return as well. So, that means it's a go, right?

Not quite. Y'all forgot about Johnny Depp.

"We should hold off a bit. They should be special," said Depp about the possibility of a "Pirates 5." He has a point: it seems like only yesterday people were flocking to theaters to see "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," and now the new "On Stranger Tides" is due out within the month.

Is there such a thing as too much "Pirates of the Caribbean?" Yes, I'd say so. And though you can attempt a sequel without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley by adding Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane, there's just no way you're going to be able to do a "Pirates" movie without Jack Sparrow.

So, you'd better do what Depp says, guys. Give the man a rest!
