Pia Toscano's Post 'American Idol' Plans: Are Movies In Her Future? SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't watched last night's "American Idol" yet, you might want to skip this article. But really, if you haven't watched last night's "American Idol" yet, you should probably just avoid the internet entirely.

Why? Because fan favorite Pia Toscano was eliminated on Thursday night. It was a shocking move, and even Jennifer Lopez admitted that she was surprised at the result.

But Toscano isn't going to let elimination from "American Idol" faze her. "You don't know why things happen. It wasn't my time," said the singer. She does admit that she was "very emotional" when it happened, though.

So why isn't she worried? She feels that "Idol" has given her the boost she needs to pursue other projects. "I want to cover all grounds. I want to do movies," said Toscano. "I see an album in my future… pop with an R&B influence."

There haven't been a lot of "American Idol" contestants who went on to do movies (though Clay Aiken did some TV acting), so it will be interesting to see if Toscano ends up on the big screen. As for the album, there's a long history of "Idol" runner-ups becoming successful. Clay Aiken lost to Ruben Studdard back in season two, but Aiken became much more successful after the show was over.

For now, though, Toscano is preparing for the big tour: "I'm looking forward to going on tour with the other contestants," she said. "Right now I want to be ready for that tour."
