PHOTO: Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman...in the Classic Shorts!

Well, the "Wonder Woman" pilot is dead. NBC passed on it. You won't be seeing Adrianne Palicki of "Friday Night Lights" running through the streets of Los Angeles in her Wonder Woman costume.

You know the costume I'm talking about, right? The one that everybody hated because it had long pants and looked cheap and made of stripper-esque vinyl? Hey, at least there won't be a Wonder Woman show made with that costume, right? We dodged a bullet there!

What's that? That wasn't going to be the full-time costume? There was an alternate, classic one? Oh. Well, now I'm upset. Save the "Wonder Woman" pilot!

A photo has surfaced of Adrianne Palicki on the "Wonder Woman" set, wearing a costume that very closely resembles the classic look from the comics and the original TV show with Lynda Carter. In fact, the short-shorts that Palicki is wearing are even more revealing than Carter's, making me think that NBC passing on this show maybe wasn't such a good idea.

There's no official indication of where this costume was going to come into play...it could have been an early version that got changed into the long pants, or it could have been a later version that was implemented as a favor to the fans. In any case, this is probably all we'll ever see of it.

Alas, poor Adrianne Palicki in hotpants. We barely knew ye.
