Pete Davidson's Tattoo Artist Is Not a Fan of the Ariana Grande Tattoos

Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson is in love with Ariana Grande, and he wants to show it. One of the displays of affection chosen by the 24-year-old Davidson is a growing number of tattoos that are specifically dedicated to Grande, a choice that's not popular among tattoo artists in general. Pete's own ink artist, Jon Mesa, tried to discourage the practice. Read on to see how that went.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson‘s love is written in ink.

Photographed last Monday while out and about with her “SNL” fiancé, 25-year-old Grande appeared to be sporting a new tattoo atop her left foot: “8418,” the badge number of Davidson’s late firefighter father Scott, who died during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in NYC.

Davidson, 24, has those same digits inked on his left arm.

Though they’ve only been together a short time, the two stars have already made a habit of getting (sometimes matching) tattoos that celebrate their romance. In June, Davidson inked the initials “AG” on his thumb, and had a black bunny mask identical to the one Grande wears on her “Dangerous Woman” album art added behind his ear.

Grande and Davidson also share identical cloud tattoos on their left middle fingers, along with both the word “Reborn” and “H2GKMO” (in honor of Grande’s favorite phrase, “honest to God knock me out”) on their hands.

“I told Pete, ‘Hey, dude, let’s just stop with the girlfriend tats until after [Grande’s] your wife,'” Davidson’s go-to tattoo artist, Jon Mesa, said recently. “Because relationships come and go, and Pete is a really young man. [But] I think that went in one ear and out the other.”
