People Are Seriously Pissed About Last Night's 'Grey's Anatomy' Twist

Last night's "Grey's Anatomy" had an unexpected ending, and fans are not happy about it.

"Grey's Anatomy" has a habit of killing off characters, sometimes even offing a series regular without much warning. We all remember the heartache over Denny and George in the earlier seasons, right?

Well, last night's episode featured the most high-profile character death yet, as Dr. Derek Shepherd met his end after a major car wreck.

Derek was hit by a semi-truck and taken to the ER, but ended up comatose with major brain damage. As a result, Meredith sat by his side while he was taken off life support, and just to twist the knife a bit the show treated us to a montage of all of Derek and Meredith's happy times together.

They even brought back Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars." That's just cruel.

Fans are more than upset over the twist: some of them are downright furious. Many called out series creator Shonda Rhimes for the decision, some of them even claiming that they'll never watch the show again after this. Others joked about how few original cast members are left.

Still, since we're 11 seasons in, is there any other way to surprise viewers at this point?
