People Are #LeBroning Now: Check Out the Internet's Newest Meme
by Andy NeuenschwanderWhen the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs made it to the NBA Finals (yet again), everybody was expecting another boring matchup between two pretty widely hated teams...or at least one widely hated team and another tolerated one.
But then, LeBron James had a leg cramp, and things got interesting.
In last night's Game 1 matchup, LeBron's leg cramped up on him and had to be literally carried off the court while wincing in pain. Many saw this as a pretty severe overreaction to a muscle cramp, especially Gatorade, who took the opportunity to burn LeBron (who endorses competitor Powerade) on Twitter.
But the mockery didn't stop with Gatorade's teasing over electrolytes. Anti-LeBron NBA fans everywhere started snapping their own reenactments of LeBron's exit from the game, and thus #LeBroning was born.
This actually isn't the first time that #LeBroning has been a "thing," as it were. Previously, the term was used to describe "flopping" or making a huge overreaction to minor physical contact. To be fair, though, pretty much every player in the NBA does that.
So here's how you can do your own #LeBroning: You'll need two friends who have some lifting strength. Position yourself between said friends, put your arms around their shoulders for support, and have them lift you by your legs and carry you around. For best results, you should act as if you're in terrible, terrible pain.
