Pawn Stars' Chumlee Arrested on Drug, Gun Charges
by EG
TMZ reports that Pawn Stars star Austin Russell, who is better known by his nickname, Chumlee, was taken into custody and formally charged with illegal possession of drugs and a firearm by Las Vegas police this week. The police raided Russell's home on Wednesday during an investigation into a sexual assault case. While exercising a search warrant at the home, police reportedly discovered marijuana, crystal meth and at least one gun.
The HISTORY reality series Pawn Stars follows the exploits of the staff of a Las Vegas pawn shop as they appraise, buy and sell merchandise. Russell typically provides comic relief on the show, as his character is often ridiculed by the other staff as unintelligent and inept. Pawn Stars has consistently been the highest rated program on HISTORY and one of the highest rated programs on all of cable TV.
TMZ reports that Russell is a suspect in the Las Vegas police's sexual assault investigation and that that investigation is still ongoing.
