'Partners' Season 1, Episode 6: 'Temporary Insanity' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanRoRo is going to be out for two weeks, so Joe and Louis are discussing getting an intern to take her spot. Louis goes in to the break room and flirts with the other secretaries. In come the Twins, Nate and Jordy, who are new to the building and providing a potluck to welcome themselves.
Joe is in his office, struggling with the temp agency. Louis tells him the Nurse’s Union is on strike so Wyatt can fill in as the secretary. Joe doesn’t think it will be good idea. He warns Louis that having Wyatt around will annoy him.
Too late. Wyatt’s already been hired, apparently, since he pops in and offers to grab them coffee.
At yoga, Ali stresses to Louis about the jewelry party she’s hosting at her store. Louis gets her a cater-waiter from the unemployed actors at yoga to help.
At the office, everything has been changed. Wyatt has cleaned and organized. Wyatt offers to go get them lunch, but Joe says it makes him uncomfortable. Wyatt insists he’s their assistant at the office, and Joe admits to Louis that Wyatt is doing a good job.
However Louis’ bubble bursts a little when Wyatt won’t get him the food he wants.
Joe and Louis hear celebration down the hall. They go and find that everyone is lined up to jump into Wyatt’s arms, and the twins are excited to have him at their potluck.
At home, Wyatt is gossiping with Louis as they brush their teeth. Wyatt is so used to telling him about his day that he is telling Louis stories he already knows, but Louis is getting increasingly annoyed at how well-loved Wyatt is at the office.
Louis hallucinates, seeing the other secretaries in the mirror, telling him Wyatt is more popular than he is.
Joe goes to see Ali, who is still panicked and stressed. Joe tells her she needs to get herself a Wyatt. Wyatt has been making him protein shakes, too, and he makes Ali jump into his arms.
At the office, Joe isn’t thrilled to find out that Wyatt has “touched” the model of one of his buildings, until he sees that he made tiny people. Louis comes in, and Wyatt happily tells him that someone was looking at inappropriate sites on his computer that he blocked.
Louis is going nuts, and Joe reminds him of what he told him in the beginning. Louis tells him he has to fire Wyatt, but Joe refuses, until Louis does the “Claire Danes chin quiver.”
At their home, Wyatt tells Louis he is surprised Joe fired him without any explanation. Wyatt says he will miss being able to spend the whole day with his favorite person, Louis.
Ali calls Joe, freaking out because her cater-waiter broke both of his hands. Louis comes in; he has hired Wyatt back. Joe tells him owes him one—and Louis is forced to step in as the cater waiter.
