'Parks and Recreation' Season 4, Episode 13 Recap - 'Bowling for Votes'

'Parks and Recreation' Season 4, Episode 13 Recap - 'Bowling for Votes' Leslie Knope should really know better than to take anything anyone says at a focus group seriously. But she does, and that's how Ben ends up punching a guy.

Filling in the gaps: one voter mentions that he thinks Leslie isn't a candidate that he could go bowling with, so Leslie naturally decides to hold a bowling event to talk to voters and also prove that she's a good bowler (ask Ron). As is often the case with Leslie, this turns into an obsession as she becomes hell bent on changing that one voter's mind.

It doesn't work, of course, but what we do get is a pretty fun incident in which the nasty voter (Derek) calls Leslie a bitch and Ben clocks him in the face. Well played, sir! It looks to be a fiasco at first, but ultimately voters respond to Leslie's refusal to apologize to Derek, who continues to be kind of a dick.

Meanwhile, Jerry leads the rest of the team plus Chris in cold-calling donors. This ultimately ends in Chris getting dumped by his girlfriend/Jerry's daughter, and we're treated to a heartwarming scene in which April is nice to Chris. Well, it's as heartwarming as April gets, anyway.

But the winner of the evening is Tom and Ron's exchanges at the bowling alley, as Tom consistently shows Ron up despite bowling (and acting) like a wimp the whole time. The payoff is seeing Ron return incognito, try Tom's granny-bowling method, and bowl a perfect game.

Was it the best episode we've seen this season? Not really. But it was fun, and who doesn't like bowling?
