Parks and Recreation to Release New Webisodes After Tonight's Episode

Parks and Recreation to Release New Webisodes After Tonight's Episode Talk about some elaborate product placement. After tonight's episode of "Parks & Recreation," the show will run a series of webisodes sponsored by Volkswagen, showing Andy (Chris Pratt) and April (Aubrey Plaza) hitting the road for an adventure in a Passat.

According to an NBC press release:

"Viewers tuning in to the November 3 episode of 'Parks and Recreation' on NBC will see Andy sharing his bucket list with April, inspiring the couple to take a road trip out west. Volkswagen will help bridge the on-air story to the online story as the two 'borrow' April's dad's Passat and begin their adventure."

The webisodes will apparently tie in neatly to the events on the show.

"The web series picks up where the show leaves off, following the happy couple on their 60-hour journey across America. Watch as they battle spiders, scope out real estate opportunities, and visit the famous 'Four Corners' (or, what Andy thinks is the Four Corners)."

Not a bad idea if you're trying to sell cars, but it would be far more interesting to have a road trip with Ron Swanson. Of course the possibility that he would drive a Passat are non-existent.

Hey, that gives me an idea. Anyone know the number for the marketing guys at Hummer?
