'Parks and Rec' Gains Lucy Lawless as a Love Interest for Ron Swanson

'Parks and Rec' Gains Lucy Lawless as a Love Interest for Ron Swanson What does it take to win the heart of a staunch Libertarian with a love of the outdoors and all things meat? Apparently, it takes a warrior princess.

Lucy Lawless has signed on for an arc on the next season of "Parks and Recreation," and it sounds like she will be a love interest for Ron Swanson (played by the criminally underrated Nick Offerman).

If you know anything about Ron's love life, that means that Lawless' character has a good chance of being:

A.) Slightly crazy

B.) Named Tammy

It has been confirmed by TV Line that her name will in fact be Diane, so there goes that theory. Jury's out on whether or not she'll be crazy, but then again isn't everyone in Pawnee?

Most people who were conscious in the 1990's probably know Lawless best as the butt-kicking, boomerang-throwing heroine in "Xena: Warrior Princess." More recently, Lawless has taken on roles in "Battlestar Galactica" and "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." In fact, Lawless was originally considered to play Tammy 1, a former flame of Ron's, but couldn't take the role due to her "Spartacus" duties.

Lawless' "Parks & Recreation" run will last at least a few episodes. The season five premiere of the NBC sitcom will be on Thursday, September 20.
