'Paranormal State's' Ryan Buell Battling Cancer
by Shannon KeirnanRyan Buell, the star of A&E’s “Paranormal State,” and founder of the Paranormal Research Society (PRS), was recently released from the hospital following an illness related to his cancer.
“Things are looking positive after complications with his kidneys started a month ago and temporarily knocked him down,” Buell’s staff updated on the paranormal investigator’s Facebook page.
Buell, who is only 30 years old, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last July, and has been struggling through the treatments. Pancreatic cancer is a very aggressive form of cancer, but the star is inspiring all with his determination.
Using updates to his Facebook and Twitter accounts, Buell has been keeping in touch with his many fans and being very open about his disease.
Lately, however, the updates have been added by PRS staff members. Buell’s Twitter account notes that Buell is on “personal leave, but we will be tweeting news and video updates on all things Buell.”
On the 4th of this month the star updated, “Thank you all for your continued prayers and well-wishes. I won’t lie, I have been in and out of the hospital all week… I’m able to walk now, for the most part, without my cane.”
He also says, “There are days when I hardly have strength to move, but sometimes I hear chants in the back of my head; cheers, telling me to get up and rise. And that keeps me going every day! God bless you all!”
Through it all Buell has remained optimistic, and encouraging toward others in similar situations.
“I know there are many of you suffering from illnesses, and not just cancer. I say to all of you: SOLDIER ON! I know the pain that you will feel. And the pain for the treatment. I still say SOLDIER ON! Let’s think of one another during those moments, even though we don’t know each other.”
We here at Yidio wish Ryan, and all those other soldiers, the very, very best. Fight on.
