Doctors Nat Strand and Kat Chang bag $1million, record history in 'The Amazing Race' Season 17 Finale

The Amazing Race Season 17 Finale Pal doctors Nat Strand and Kat Chang made history in The Amazing Race as the first team of women who bagged the $ 1 million grand prize during the season 17 finale of CBS reality show.

Strand and Chang were the first contestants who reached their final destination and cross the finish line on Sunday at the terrace of the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, LA.

The two-woman doctors competed with second place winner Brook Roberts and Claire Champlin from San Diego California and Reno, Nevada respectively and both are home shopping network hosts and third place winner Jill Haney and Thomas Wolfard from Marina Del Rey, California.

According to Strand, she saw all the previous seasons of The Amazing Race however, she didn’t realized the extreme difficulties of the activities when she watched the reality series. When she became a contestant, she was surprised and said, “I had no idea how hard it was going to be. The extreme fatigue, how hungry you get. I was surprised how physically demanding it was.”

She specifically pointed the Sunday’s episod dropping from the crane as the worst activity for her in their entire journey 32,000 miles, covering 30 cities within 4 continents.

On the other hand, Chang said that the biggest surprise for her was bond created between them and all the other racers in the reality show. She said, “We were so lucky that the others were fantastic, and we got along."

The finale episode of The Amazing Race was finished six months ago and the result was kept secret by the winners until the final broadcast of the show.

Chang said, "It still feels unreal. Having to keep it a secret until just a half-hour ago made it difficult for it to feel real. I could only share stories with Nat. We'd say to each other, 'Do you believe what we did?!”

Congratulations ladies, you made it!
