Best Actor in a Supporting Role:
Alan Arkin for his role in “Argo”.
Robert De Niro for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook”.
Philip Seymour Hoffman for his role in “The Master”.
Tommy Lee Jones for his role in “Lincoln”.
Christoph Waltz for his role in “Django Unchained”.
Best Actress in a Supporting Role:
Amy Adams for her role in “The Master”.
Sally Field for her role in “Lincoln”.
Anne Hathaway for her role in “Les Miserables”.
Helen Hunt for her role in “The Sessions”.
Jacki Weaver for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook”.
Our prediction:
Best Supporting Actor: Robert De Niro for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook”. He managed to show a new softer, gentler side in this film, and everyone took notice. He has proven he’s not the typical typecast tough guy anymore. A close second would be Christoph Waltz for his role in “Django Unchained”.
Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway for her role in “Les Miserables”. This is a given. In fact, it was predicted the moment they announced the that she landed the role. Nothing beats misery mixed with emotional singing, especially at the level of “Les Miserables”. A distant second would be Sally Field for her role in “Lincoln”.
