Oscar Nominees for Best Actor/Actress - Who Will Win?
by Zack Wells
In preparation of The Academy Awards this Sunday, here is a quick rundown of all the nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Best Actor:
Bradley Cooper for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook”.
Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in “Lincoln”.
Hugh Jackman for his role in “Les Miserables.”
Joaquin Phoenix for his role in “The Master”.
Denzel Washington for his role in “Flight”.
Best Actress:
Jessica Chastain for her role in “Zero Dark Thirty”.
Jennifer Lawrence for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook”.
Emmanuelle Riva for her role in “Amour”.
Quvenzhané Wallis for her role in “Beasts of the Southern Wild”.
Naomi Watts for her role in “The Impossible”.
Our prediction?
Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in “Lincoln”. No one comes close to his role as the president. A distant second would be Hugh Jackman for his role in “Les Miserables”.
Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook”. It’s not a clear win by a longshot, but she is an up-and-comer and seems to have the support behind her. A very close second would be Emmanuelle Riva.
