'Winner' Like Me: Original 'Glee' Songs Beat Covers, Top iTunes Charts

'Winner' Like Me: Original 'Glee' Songs Beat Covers, Top iTunes Charts Fans and critics alike have been calling for "Glee" to write some original music for months, and this week they finally got their wish: New Directions performed their original music at Regionals, and the tracks have been released on the latest "Glee" album, "Glee, The Music: Volume 5."

It looks like the fans weren't kidding when they said they wanted original songs, as two of the originals "Loser Like Me" and "Get It Right" currently reign at #1 and #2 on iTunes and "Hell to the No" sits at #10.

Of course, three "Glee" cover songs also made the top 10: The Beatles' "Blackbird" and the Warblers singing Pink's "Raise Your Glass" and Maroon 5's "Misery." It's a big win for the Warblers as well, who will be releasing their own album later this year.

With that kind of response, it would be hard for "Glee" to ignore it: the fans have spoken, and they want more originals! Plus, with Disney working on a new musical TV series with all original music, "Glee" might find themselves competing.

What do you think? Should "Glee" do more originals? Should they forget about the covers, or keep doing a mix of both?
