Oprah Winfrey expressed her delight five days after launching the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), which she considered the biggest gamble in her life.

The talk show diva told TV journalists that she is aware that her OWN cable network could face challenges in the future however, she is confident that American viewers are open and ready to accept for more variety , thoughtful, and inspiring TV programs.

Oprah said, "OWN feels like a big paint box where I have an idea and I can build on that idea. Who gets this in their life? It is better than anything.”

According to OWN CEO Christina Norman OWN has an “incredibly strong start.” According to her since the Saturday launching to Monday, the cable network enjoyed 13 million viewers tuned in to the different programs.

Norman said that it’s a proof that OWN can attract a larger number of audience and their objective is to be one of the top 5 cable channel during the prime time and be one of the top 10 most viewed network during day time.

Oprah said, "I am grateful we weren't embarrassed and that people came. At this point in my life, I am not trying to get everybody. I am only trying to get the people who want to hear. ...There is a critical mass of people -- we haven't found them all -- who want different programming.

The talk show queen also said, "I think we are going to have some perhaps rocky times with the channel, keeping people there and keeping them motivated to watch. But we can do that, because I believe that people want it, and now there is no better time for it.”

Oprah recalled her childhood experience in Mississippi and shared her extra ordinary journey to the reporters.

"How absolutely extraordinary it is that I can sit in this place with my name on a network, coming from a little town in Mississippi...and growing up without a television.

"I thought about standing on that red dirt road ... watching TV from a Sears and Roebuck store, asking my grandmother if I could get a television, and she said 'No, that's the devil's work'," she said.

"It was not until we went on air that I fully started to grasp what it means to have a network where you are the OW of the OWN,” said Oprah

That only proves that Oprah would be able to surpass any challenge that her OWN will encounter in the future. People want to be inspired and that is the primary reason why Oprah’s fans love her. She continue to inspire people in every way she could. The Oprah Presents Master Class is a great program.
