Oprah Answers Rumors on Gayle King Relationship, 'I'm not Lesbian'

Oprah Winfrey, Oprah Winfrey finally answered the gossip spreading behind her regarding her very close relationship with Gayle King and said, “We’re not gay, I’m not a lesbian and not even kind of.”

The influential TV Talk show host who normally interview and discuss the lives of other people confided about her personal life to Barbara Walters.

Walters asked Oprah to describe her relationship with King and she became emotional while describing her friend of 20 years.  Oprah said, “She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want.  She is a friend everybody deserves.  I don’t know a better person.”

She also admits that the rumors irritate her, "And the reason why it irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I'm lying.  That's number one, Number two - Why would you want to hide? That is not the way I run my life."

Asked why it is making her cry.  Oprah explained, “It’s making me cry because I’m thinking how much, I probably have never told her that.”

Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey will play the role of Madam Brothel in a New HBO Movie adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Ruined” produced by Harpo Studios.

"Ruined" centers  on sexual violence and war through the perspective of several women affiliated with the brothel.

Winfrey will also launch her new cable TV network, 'OWN', in January of next year.  She will also end “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on ABC on May 2011.
