OPRAH aims to help people with OWN network - January 1, 2011 Schedule

It is unquestionable that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential figure not just in the movie industry but in politics as well.

When Oprah supported President Barack Obama during his political campaign, there had been speculations that she might be interested in running for public office in the near future.

Oprah is certainly not interested in politics. She said, "Arrgghhh! The very idea of politics… no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no."

Oprah further said, Politics is "having to live your life at the whim of somebody's polls, I just feel like there's so much more ability for me, personally, to be able to effect change and to be able to influence through stories and ideas than I could ever do with politics."

According to her she want to see the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) establish itself as a "force for good," a platform that helps people and to see the best of themselves.”

Today Oprah launched OWN at 12 noon EST. The talk show queen said, "I wanted to take the ideals of great television that we've established on the 'Oprah' show and bring them to you through a variety of new shows 24/7. Every minute of this network has been hand-selected by me for you, the viewers."

Opra happily and excitedly opened OWN with high hopes that the viewers will find something from the station’s programs to inspire them in their daily life.
