'Dancing With The Stars' Season 13, Episode 5 Results Recap

'Dancing With The Stars' Season 13, Episode 5 Results Recap Welcome to the second week of this "Dancing with the Stars" season's own personal Metacritic/Rotten Tomatoes effect: the elimination show, where the educated nitpicking of Bruno, Carrie Anne and Len gets appropriately balanced by fans simply deciding whose inspired hoofing brought them the most enjoyment.

For the record, getting a respectable 21 out of a possible 30 this week was nothing to sneeze at, with several couples turning in inspired performances.

Spoiler Alert:

But the fact that fans bade Italian model, actress and ex-girlfriend of George Clooney Elisabetta Canalis a fond "Arrivederci!" speaks volumes for just how much likability counts.

Canalis and partner Val Chemerkovskiy actually turned out a very well-received quick step Monday night, displaying fine timing and palpable energy. The pair even looked like, with a few more weeks' work, they might have the stuff that would give early stand-outs J.R. Martinez and pro Karina Smirnoff some competition.

Consider also that the judges waffled somewhat over how they should grade low-scorers Chaz Bono and pro Lacey Schwimmer. Their hearts clearly went out to Bono, who was hobbled by severe joint pain in his right ankle and knee, but none of the three ignored how lackluster the nagging pains forced the pair to keep their routine.

The X-factor this week? Bono gutting out injuries, doing it with a smile and making it clear that whether his knees popped like firecrackers or not. Then there's Canalis. Her rehearsal recap painted her as petulant and condescending. Sure, Nancy Grace got similarly whiny snippy, but she made up for it by being apologetic and being honest that it was a product of being out of her element.

Personally, I wondered whether Canalis even wanted to be there in the first place.
