'Once Upon a Time' Casts Cruella De Vil

'Once Upon a Time' Casts Cruella De Vil There's a new villain coming to "Once Upon a Time" and she's old-school!

ABC has reportedly cast Victoria Smurfit as Cruella De Vil on the Disney-heavy fantasy drama. Though Disney and ABC haven't commented on the casting yet, Smurfit leaked the secret on Twitter a bit early.

"Super excited about playing Cruella for such an iconic show as @OnceABC," Smurfit tweeted, but almost immediately deleted the tweet. We're guessing ABC got hold of her pretty quickly.

Cruella De Vil made her first appearance in "101 Dalmatians," where she acted as the main villain to the titular litter, wanting to wear their fur. However, it's looking like Cruella will have a different backstory on "Once Upon a Time."

On the most recent episode, we learned that Elsa and Anna of "Frozen" fame have evil aunts, one of whom we've already met. The other is yet to be named, but this casting suggests that Cruella might be the other aunt, making her a relative of the "Frozen" family.

Of course that's not exactly canon when it comes to the original Disney movies, but very few things on "Once Upon a Time" are.

Mostly, we just can't wait to see how the costume department for the show dresses up Smurfit to fit the role. We're betting she won't have the long cigarette holder due to rules about smoking on TV-PG shows.

One source has reported that there will be a dalmatian puppy on the show at some point though!
