Olivia Wilde Breastfeeds in 'Glamour' Photoshoot: 'It Feels Like Otis Should Always Be On My Breast'
by Andy NeuenschwanderWell, that's one way to do a fashion photo shoot!
Olivia Wilde appears on the cover of the newest issue of Glamour, and she has a cute little companion in her modeling efforts...baby Otis!
Wilde and her beau Jason Sudeikis welcomed Otis into the world back in April, but were shy about showing him off too early. The paparazzi caught a few photos early on, but it was only last month that Wilde posted a pic of Otis onto Instagram.
The Glamour shoot therefore marks Wilde's first photoshoot with Otis, and she's taken the opportunity to comment on the subject of public breastfeeding, an often hot-button issue among new mothers who sometimes find that others are opposed to breastfeeding in public places.
"Breastfeeding is the most natural thing," Wilde told the magazine. "I don’t know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast."
The gorgeous photo features Wilde feeding Otis in a booth at a diner while dressed to the nines in a fashionable cocktail dress and heels. Wilde loves the message, but admits that the image is a bit of a fantasy: "You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed,” she said. “I mean, I certainly don’t really look like that when I’m breast-feeding. And there’s usually a diaper involved."
Wilde remains active in her career despite her new motherhood, having completed filming for sci-fi medical thriller "Lazarus" as well as "The Longest Week." She's also rumored to star in a follow-up to "Tron: Legacy" reprising her role as Quorra.
However, Wilde considers motherhood to be an essential part of her identity now, even as a movie star. "Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that," she explained.
The Glamour issue is due out in September.
