'The Office' Spoofs Angus T. Jones
by Shannon KeirnanAngus T. Jones ruffled quite a few feathers when he tore down the show that made him a very wealthy teen, “Two and a Half Men.”
But not everyone is upset by the star’s odd meltdown, if one wants to call it that. Some are even using it to their advantage—cue cast of NBC’s “The Office.”
Rainn Wilson and Craig Ferguson, who play Dwight and Darryl on the show, were quick to use the awkward video to promote their own show, which is in its final season.
Wilson steps into the role of Jones, who, if you don’t know, calls “Two and a Half Men” "filth", and encourages viewers not to watch. He reminds viewers that “The Office” will rot people’s brains… while simultaneously pushing the show’s air date, time, and channel.
“Hopefully people will listen to me, and not watch this filth… called ‘The Office.’”
Ferguson, meanwhile, maintains the role of The Forerunner, who silently nods, lifts his eyes to the camera, and works on an air of wisdom.
The original video was uploaded by a Christian Church called the Forerunner Chronicles.
"You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that," Jones says in the video. “I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show."
Will Jones, who has been on “Two and a Half Men” since he was ten, follow his new spiritual teachings and leave the show at the end of this year at the end of his contract?
How long will his rant provide fodder for other celebrities? Because if that wasn't good enough, there's also Matthew Perry discussing his own (heavily sarcastic) spiritual awakening for FunnyorDie, and urging viewers to stop watching his show "Go On."
"Great, so, because I think all of my T.V. shows were immoral, I'm gonna give all the money back. I assume that's what Angus is gonna do."
You can watch that (more entertaining but potentially more offensive) video here.
