Episode The Office Season 7 Episode 14 'The Seminar' Recap

Episode The Office Season 7 Episode 14 'The Seminar' Recap The episode's cold open treats us to the long-awaited meeting of Michael Scott and Ricky Gervais' character of David Brent from the original British Office; as can be expected, they develop an instant rapport, as their senses of humor gel well together.

However, that's the last we see of them, as we move on to one of many subplots that the episode features.

Andy, knowing that he is lagging behind in sales, has the ingenious idea of putting together a small business seminar, in an attempt to bring in more clients.

However, his all-star lecture team bails out on him – first, because Jim recognizes a spurned childhood friend in the crowd, and then Dwight, Stanley and Phyllis because they look down on the seemingly spacey clients.

Andy manages to get Kevin, Kelly, and Creed to help, but the results are disastrous – Kevin nearly has a heart attack in his misguided speech, Kelly merely gets her old business professor on speakerphone, and Creed sincerely invites them to chase down the Loch Ness Monster. While it doesn’t go over like gangbusters, Andy does get at least one or two clients.

In the meantime, Michael, in his attempt to build a Greek character as a ringer for the seminar, instead spends the day with Holly, trying to win her back by getting her to help him with “character research,” which merely ends with her awkwardly refusing an in-character kiss. In the meantime, Pam and Oscar attempt to help the dim Erin win a game of online Scrabble, to disastrous results.
