'The Office' Casts Catherine Tate in Multi-Episode Arc

'The Office' Casts Catherine Tate in Multi-Episode Arc We're already well on our way into the new season of "The Office," which means that we know who the new manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin is (spoiler alert: it's Andy).

But apparently, the folks who make "The Office" are not opposed to bringing on some of the possible replacement's from last season's finale.

That guest-star-studded finale featured appearances from Ricky Gervais, Jim Carrey, Ray Romano and others, including James Spader, who now appears on the show regularly.

But Spader isn't the only one to be offered a recurring role: Catherine Tate, who appeared as a potential manager in the finale, has been cast in a multi-episode arc in this season as well.

Tate, a British actress who has been showing off her skills in comedic roles overseas for years, will be reprising her role as Nellie Bertram, who had some outlandish and self-contradicting ideas for how to run the office.

Rumor has it that Tate's character will also be starting up a romance of some kind with Spader's character Robert California. Intriguing, no? Expect Tate to show up in February and stay on for the remainder of the second half of the season.
