Obscene Recipe of the Day: The Ron Swanson Turkey Burger, Inspired by 'Parks and Recreation' Here's how you know you're a true fan of a TV show: you hear a supporting character make an off-handed comment about a hamburger, and you go out and write up a recipe for that burger.

That's what Eater.com did after last week's episode of "Parks & Recreation." If you watched the episode, which had Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) facing off against Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) in a cook-off to determine whether a turkey burger could be better than a hamburger. Though Traeger made a gourmet turkey burger with expensive seasonings and carefully thought-out ingredients, it was still beaten by Swanson's ground beef patty on a white bread bun, with out without ketchup (he "couldn't care less"). Beef is just better.

When asked if he had ever eaten a turkey burger, Swanson seemed confused: "Is that a fried turkey leg inside a grilled hamburger? If so, yes. Delicious." Eater caught the joke and ran with it, actually putting the Ron Swanson Turkey Burger into practice.

The result of the recipe is a fried turkey leg stuck inside a five-pound meat patty on a huge grilled bun. It sounds simultaneously delicious and disgusting...definitely a dish to be shared, not eaten by a single person. Oh, and watch out for the bone.
