Royal Snub: Obamas Not Invited to the Royal Wedding, But Beckhams Are

Royal Snub: Obamas Not Invited to the Royal Wedding, But Beckhams Are When England's Prince William and Kate Middleton say their "I do's" this spring, one notable attendee will be absent.

According to The Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth personally invited 40 heads of state with gold-embossed invitations, snubbing President Obama and the First Lady.

Those who did make the cut include leaders from Commonwealth countries, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand along with Kings and Queens across Europe, including Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Greece.

Why not throw in a little Posh Spice to make it memorable, right? Apparently David Beckham and Prince William have an affiliation with the English Football Association, resulting in the invitation.

In total, it is said that nearly 1,900 guests will witness the future king of England and his brunette beauty exchange vows on the 29th of April at Westminster Abbey.

Although the President will not make the April trip across the pond, a state visit has been scheduled for May of this year. It will be the first time a US President has made an official state visit to the U.K. since George W. Bush in 2003. In fact, this will be the first official state visit to a European country for the Pres since taking office.

Snub speculation is running amuck but reports blame added security costs for the reason President Obama was not on the list for the nuptials.

Obama or no Obama, when those two lovebirds make it official the world will be watching.
