To Nobody's Surprise, California DMV Suspends Amanda Bynes' License

Since a fifth wreck in six months would just be one too many...

Look, there's no way this actually stops her from getting behind a wheel and getting her "Grand Theft Auto" on, but it's nice that the California Department of Motor Vehicles is actually pretending to give half a nutty crap about Amanda Bynes and her reign of vehicular property damage.

In the wake of Los Angeles County prosecutors on Wednesday filing two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges against the former Nickelodeon cutie, the Golden State's DMV confirmed to "Access Hollywood" that her driving privileges have indeed been suspended since Aug. 25. Prior to that, let's once more recap just how buried Bynes is in moving violations.

Bynes scored a DUI April 6 after striking a police car with her rented BMW. Four days later, she hit another vehicle in the San Fernando Valley, resulting in the driver actually giving chase. A month after that, she hit still another vehicle in West Hollywood, but after a police chase and minimal damage, she didn't get slapped with any charges.

Ah, but then on Aug. 5, she hit another San Fernando Valley vehicle, stopped, tried unsuccessfully to push the struck Toyota's dent out, refused to exchange insurance information, and drove off.

The two San Fernando Valley incidents resulted in the charges that could now (theoretically) put her in jail for up to a year. The star of Nick's "The Amanda Show" and "All That," and more recently a co-star in the Emma Stone-starring "Easy A," is due in court to answer the charges on Sept. 27.

I repeat, incredulously: her license has only been suspended since Aug. 25?!
