Nina Dobrev Apologizes to Miley Cyrus
by Shannon Keirnan
Earlier this week “The Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev made the mistake of saying what a lot of people were thinking by telling fans she wasn’t planning to “pull a Miley.”
“Pulling a Miley,” to translate, is a reference to the somewhat hasty engagement between 19-year old Miley Cyrus and her sexy “Hunger Games” star boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.
Apparently the pretty, big-smiled Dobrev realized that her comment might have ruffled a few sleek country feathers on the part of Cyrus, and was quick to take to her Twitter account with this apology:
“Note to self, light hearted comments don’t always translate in magazine articles. Big fan of @Mileycyrus – do you need a flower girl?”
While it’s highly probable the starlet meant exactly what she said at the time, her good-natured retraction shows diplomacy and taste on Dobrev’s part. Since statements get taken out of context often, perhaps the comment took a nastier turn than she had intended for it.
Although Dubrev might, I’m afraid, be a titch too old to be tossing rose petals down an aisle, we’re sure “The Last Song” actress is placated by the “Diaries” star’ tweeted offer, and hope that Cyrus fans everywhere are feeling as forgiving.
Dobrev and her boyfriend, “Vampire Diaries” co-star Ian Somerhalder have been facing a lot of gossip in the press lately about tying the knot, but Dobrev has declared that, although she wishes to marry and have a family, don’t look for it “any time soon.”
We for one wish Dobrev and Somerhalder the best of luck in their coming nuptials—no matter how far down the road they may be.
