Nick Cannon Shuts Down Rumors, Says 'I Will Always Love Mariah Carey'
by Shannon KeirnanRumor has it that there is "trouble in paradise," but don't you dare suggest that Nick Cannon was the one to say so!
Divorce rumors are flying right and left regarding singer Mariah Carey and her "American's Got Talent" host husband Nick Cannon (who was allegedly cheating on his diva).
For the first time, Cannon spoke out about the gossip, taking to his Twitter to blast the rumors, the "sources," and anyone else a little too interested in the proceedings.
"I have personally been absent from social media for the past few months for obvious reasons but I feel the need to finally speak up..." he began in a series of tweets.
"During this challenging time for me and my family it saddens me that the media can be such evil bottom feeders... Because my family & I haven't been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to pain negative pictures and spread rumours. For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage."
He reminds his fans that any quotes allegedly from him have been fabricated.
Cannon took special aim at The Insider, who quoted him as saying there was "trouble in paradise" between himself and his wife, and that they were living separately.
"'Trouble in Paradise' is the dumbest phrase I've ever heard! I would never say that sh!t."
He went on to defend Carey against the naysayers.
"What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey. I will forever be in debted to her for blessing me with our children," he wrote. "I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly."
Possibly he is referring to reports that Carey is an alcoholic and the two are fighting over custody of their twins, Monroe and Moroccan. More information from "sources."
"I hope the check was worth it..." he jabs at the so-called sources for the slander. "'Don't worry about my life, worry about why you're worried about my life!'"
"Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... #radiosilence."
