Next 'X Factor' Judge Announcement: Expect Edgy and Hip

Next 'X Factor' Judge Announcement: Expect Edgy and Hip The hype for Simon Cowell’s judge casting on “The X Factor ” almost exceeds expectations for new talent that will be found during the show.

Two new (and interesting) names are floating in what is becoming a very drawn-out search for judges.

The good news: if hearing about the judges is already exciting, just think of what Cowell can do with publicity when the show actually gets a move on.

The even better news: recent speculation points to two vibrant, fun singers that always have a great time with the media and the game of making headlines, Nicki Minaj, 26, and Taylor Momsen, 17.

The New York Post reports that Minaj recently met with Cowell.

"Nicki has a large following and she fits well with the ethos of the show, which plans to usher in a new generation of musical talent," the Post's source said. "'The X Factor' is aiming for a younger audience...This isn't a done deal yet, but Nicki would be great for the show. She fits the idea that 'The X Factor' will be exciting, vibrant and different. And the show would also be great for her career."

Cowell has already announced the first judge to join him is mega-famous Island Def Jam producer, Antonio L.A. Reid.

Taylor Momsen is also an interesting option, Celebbuzz says. The former “Gossip Girl” star and controversial singer has a hip and edgy that is her own X Factor.

March 27 marks the kickoff date for auditions. The show has been successful in various countries throughout the world and has delivered popular talent like Leona Lewis.

In addition to wondering who's going to help select America's newest super star, the big question is: Will "The X Factor" trump "American Idol"?

The winner will receive a hefty $5 million record deal with Sony, whereas the Idol winner only receives a $1 million RCA deal. On this alone, audiences should have high expectations.
