Newlywed Alec Baldwin Drops Twitter Account

Newlywed Alec Baldwin Drops Twitter Account Out with the old, in with the new: as Alec Baldwin sets sail on a new relationship, he severed an old, sometimes volatile one.

Days after wedding fiancée Hilaria Thomas, E! Online reported Monday that Baldwin has cut his infamous tether to Twitter.

His final missive: "It's been fun." Oh, Alec. It's been half the fun for you to tweet 'em, as it's been for us to read 'em.

Among his other final tweets, the 54-year-old "30 Rock" star on Sunday sent out a picture of his shiny new. His account in the past has been a sounding board particularly against the star's contentious relationship with tabloids he feels live to invade his private life. Following a recent scuffle with a photographer that led to debate over whether Baldwin "punched" or "shoved" the journalist, Baldwin tore into The New York Daily News via the prolific microblogging platform.

"Rest in peace, The New York Daily News, which was once a good newspaper. Now run by the same trash that runs the Post."

Oh, well. With Baldwin's outspoken nature, he'll never run short of people eager to talk to him. In Vanity Fair recently, he went so far as to describe in quite the details the fate he'd like to see befall TMZ boss Harvey Levin. In 2007, outed Baldwin's potty-mouthed telephone rant to daughter Ireland Baldwin.

"I wanted to stick a knife in him and gut him and kill him and I wanted him to die breathing his last breath looking into my eyes," Baldwin said.
