Zoe Saldana and Kim Kardashian Forget Relationship Woes To Help Homeless

Zoe Saldana and Kim Kardashian Forget Relationship Woes To Help Homeless There's one sure-fire way to quit feeling sorry over one's own woes: help lift up the less fortunate. For a good example, take Zoe Saldana and Kim Kardashian.

Saldana, the 33-year-old star of J.J. Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" reboot, as well as the upcoming sequel to and all-time top grossing film "Avatar," recently ended an engagement Nov. 12 with then-fiancee Keith Britton after 11 years together.

Kardashian, meanwhile? Not only is the backlash against her family's E! reality show "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" becoming nearly unprecedented, but she's personally facing public ridicule after announcing on Oct. 31 that she was divorcing newly minted husband Kris Humphries after 72 days of wedded, er, "bliss" that included Humphries reportedly calling her a "fat-ass."

Sure, the Thanksgiving pity parties could've been in full swing. Instead, the two famous faces rolled up their sleeves and served the homeless of the Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row a hot Thanksgiving meal alongside fellow celebrities Kirk Douglas and Jennifer Love Hewitt, among others.

Us Weekly reports that Kardashian was said to be "very cordial and friendly" and apparently happy to be of service.

"She worked hard in both the food preparation area and in serving the food to the guests," a rep told the magazine.

Saldana told her Twitter followers while serving at the event "They could feed more if you log on to http://www.feedLANow.org and donate."

"Every one of us can do something small that will make a huge difference to somebody else," Kardashian added.

The meal continued a seven-year tradition started by Douglas and his wife Anne of serving the homeless on Thanksgiving, always backed by their Hollywood friends. The Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row has been providing shelter, food, clothing and medical and dental services to the homeless for the past 75 years.
