New Year's Eve TV: Get the Party Started
by EGHaven't scored an invitation to a party for New Year's Eve yet? Never fear; there are plenty of end-of-year parties on tap in TV land, and you're invited to all of them.
The A-list party is, as always, "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" on ABC. The party starts at 8:00 pm, when Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas host a two-hour look at "The 30 Greatest Women in Music." At the conclusion of that program, the countdown to midnight begins, with Fergie presenting the festivities in Los Angeles, McCarthy on the street in Times Square in New York, and Seacrest moderating the whole party.
After midnight, musical guests will keep the party going past 2:00 am. The musical line-up for the night includes Blondie, Pitbull, Capital Cities, Miley Cyrus, Daughtry, Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy, Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Icona Pop, Enrique Iglesias, Billy Joel, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Robin Thicke and The Fray.
Mario Lopez will host "New Year's Eve Live" on Fox. The Fox party begins at 11:00 pm, and musical guests include Panic! at the Disco, J. Cole, New Politics and Krewella. Carson Daly is in charge of NBC's celebration; it starts at 10:00 pm and will feature Mariah Carey and Blake Shelton.
And if you like your parties a little more low-key and considerably less musical, you can attend CNN's event in Times Square; it's hosted by Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin and starts at 9:00 pm.
