New 'X Factor' Promo Features a Mean Britney Spears

When Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were booted off "The X Factor," the reason was fairly obvious: they were unable to be the tough judge and do the job right. Nicole's niceness and inability to say anything bad to anyone ended up getting Rachel Crow eliminated from the show well before her time.

So when Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were brought in to replace them, the question was this: would these two new nice girls be able to be the bad guy? It's hard to imagine Britney Spears going all Simon Cowell on a contestant, but according to this new "X Factor" promo, it looks like she just might.

The video promises plenty of "conflict" and other sensational things, including contestants being carted off by paramedics (happens more than you'd think with this shows). But it also gives some clips of the judges interacting with contestants, including a quip from Cowell and a nasty comment from Spears. "I want to know who let you on the stage," she moans after a particularly bad performance.

Knowing "The X Factor" and its propensity for pre-producing, Spears and Lovato are probably going to be fed most of their responses. But it's good to know that at least Spears isn't afraid to be the bad guy here... it'll make for much better television.
