New 'Vampire Diaries' Character: Bonnie's New Love Interest?

As far as romance goes, Bonnie kinda got the short end of the stick on this season of "The Vampire Diaries."

After all, it's never fun when you bring your boyfriend back from the dead, only to find that he cheated on you with the ghost of his ex-girlfriend. Seriously, who sees something like that coming?

But a bit of casting news out of the "Vampire Diaries" camp might mean good things are just around the corner for Bonnie. MTV reports that Robert Ri'chard, who has appeared on "Veronica Mars" and "Meet the Browns," will be joining the show as Jamie, a mysterious stranger whom Bonnie and Elena run into on a road trip.

Rumor has it that this might mean a new fling for Bonnie, who at this point could probably use one. Ri'chard is slated to appear in episode 12 of this season, meaning he'll be on the show when it comes back from mid-season hiatus in January.

So, there's a little something to look forward to while "The Vampire Diaries" begins its long winter break. Does that help? No? Well, sorry about that.
